Tan confirms Cardiff kit change

Cardiff City owner Vincent Tan has confirmed that the club will be changing their home colours back to blue.

Malaysian businessman Tan, who took over Cardiff in May 2010, sparked outrage when he switched the team s home kit to red in 2012 as part of a rebranding to make the Championship club more appealing in his home country.

Tan has courted controversy throughout his tenure at the Welsh club, and the home fans displayed their continued frustration at the rebrand by boycotting the FA Cup third round tie with Colchester United last Friday, which was attended by a record low crowd of 4,194.

And their efforts have proved successful, with Tan changing heart after a meeting between himself, the club s board and a cross-section of supporters on Thursday.

El Clasico rivalry won´t divide Spain, says Iniesta

Andres Iniesta insisted the intense rivalry between Barcelona and Real Madrid will not undermine Spain s hopes of winning Euro 2012.

It has been claimed that the likes of Gerard Pique and Sergio Ramos do not see eye to eye, having clashed several times in the El Clasico. But Iniesta has explained that while the Barca-Madrid rivalry was once a problem, it has now been resolved.

It s an issue that is behind us; it has passed, the Blaugrana midfielder told Marca.

It does not make sense; we would be fools if we were thinking about the Madrid-Barcelona rivalry. We are here to have a great Euros.

Even better news for Spain is the fact that Iniesta, who scored the winning goal in the 2010 World Cup final, claims that he is 100 per cent fit for the tournamen…

Everton 0-2 Manchester United: Cavani magic breaks Goodison hearts

Edinson Cavani fired Manchester United into the semi-finals of the EFL Cup as his superb late goal inspired a 2-0 win over Everton

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer s side have been imperious on the road this season and headed to Goodison Park having won all eight of their domestic away games by scoring at least three times on each occasion.

They peppered the Everton goal during the first half but had nothing to show for their efforts before the game became a more physical and fractious affair after the interval.

One such occasion saw Cavani grab at Yerry Mina s throat but the former Paris Saint-Germain star remained on the field to arrow a wonderful left-footed strike into the bottom left corner from 25 yards, with Anthony Martial making sure as Everton left themselves expos…

Zenit 3-3 Chelsea: Blues forced to settle for second place

Chelsea were forced to settle for second place in Group H after an injury-time equaliser from Magomed Ozdoev clinched a 3-3 draw for Zenit in the Champions League.

Two goals from Timo Werner and another from Romelu Lukaku were not enough to secure the victory for the Blues, with Claudinho, Sardar Azmoun and Ozdoev all scoring for Zenit in Russia, and the Blues will now not be seeded in Monday s draw for the last 16 after finishing below Juventus, who beat Malmo in Turin.

The momentum of the game swung back and forth several times, with Chelsea s Kepa Arrizabalaga kept particularly busy.

Blues boss Thomas Tuchel was missing a number of midfielders, including Jorginho, N Golo Kante and Mateo Kovacic, and started Ross Barkley and Reece James in the middle…

Sahin backs Rodgers to emulate Klopp

Liverpool midfielder Nuri Sahin believes Brendan Rodgers can emulate Jurgen Klopp and bring silverware back to Anfield.

The on-loan Real Madrid midfielder witnessed the transformation Dortmund boss Klopp masterminded following his arrival in 2008, and has drawn parallels with his new boss on Merseyside.

Klopp, 45, arrived at Dortmund following a seven-year stint with Mainz 05, replacing Thomas Doll after BVB finished 13th in Bundesliga.

Klopp clinched the DFB Super Cup and guided Dortmund to a sixth place finish in his first season, before winning successive titles in 2010-11 and 2011-12.

Dortmund also notched a record-breaking 81 points in the league last year, before beating Bayern Munich 5-2 in the DFB Pokal as the club won their first ever domestic …

´Everything that could go wrong, did´ – McGinn reflects on Olympiacos defeat

Aston Villa captain, John McGinn said that “everything that could have gone wrong, did” after their Europa Conference League semi-final first-leg defeat to Olympiacos on Thursday.

Ayoub El Kaabi scored a hat-trick for Olympiacos, netting twice in the first half, though Villa fought back through Ollie Watkins and Moussa Diaby.

El Kaabi converted a spot-kick before a deflected Santiago Hezze strike put the visitors back in control.

Douglas Luiz also missed a late penalty, leaving Villa with a two-goal deficit to overturn in the second leg next Thursday.

Asked what he felt went wrong for the Villans, McGinn, speaking to TNT Sports, said: Not the game we wanted. We wanted a lot more control. We started the game well.

Keep the faith, Villans.
