Abidal pledges France support

Barcelona defender Eric Abidal wants to travel with France s squad to Poland and Ukraine for Euro 2012.

In March it was announced the 32-year-old Barcelona left-back would need to go under the knife for liver transplant surgery. The procedure went ahead in April, ruling the Frenchman out of the tournament in June.

But that has apparently not been enough to keep Abidal from wanting to follow his country s squad in a bid to provide them support as they go about looking to redeem their name following a disastrous World Cup 2010 showing.

According to France Football, France coach Laurent Blanc reportedly paid the player a visit, where he was told by Abidal: Coach, I ll come see you in Ukraine.
